Accessibility Statement
Last updated 2026-04-15
WonderPress is committed to making our nonfiction content platform accessible to all readers, including people with disabilities. We strive to conform to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 at the AA level.
1. Conformance Status
WonderPress is in partial conformance with WCAG 2.1 Level AA. Partial conformance means that some parts of the content do not yet fully conform to the accessibility standard. We are actively working toward full conformance.
2. Accessibility Features
We have implemented the following accessibility features across the platform:
- High-contrast text — all text meets or exceeds WCAG AA contrast ratios against backgrounds.
- Scalable fonts — text sizes are set in relative units and scale with browser zoom up to 200% without loss of content or function.
- Alt text on images — all meaningful images include descriptive alternative text for screen readers.
- Keyboard navigation — core navigation, reading, and account functions are accessible via keyboard.
- Screen reader support — semantic HTML, ARIA landmarks, and roles are used throughout the platform.
- Focus indicators — visible focus outlines on interactive elements for keyboard users.
3. For Younger Readers
WonderPress serves readers of all ages, including children. To support younger readers, we provide:
- Larger default text sizes in kids' reading areas for comfortable reading.
- High-contrast color schemes optimized for younger eyes.
- Simple, consistent navigation patterns throughout age-grouped sections.
- Reduced visual clutter in children's content areas.
4. Known Limitations
While we work toward full conformance, the following limitations are known:
- Interactive widgets — some interactive elements (flashcard decks, achievement badges, quiz interfaces) have limited keyboard navigation. Full keyboard support for these components is planned for Q3 2026.
- Audiobook player — the embedded audiobook player has partial screen reader support. We are working with the component to improve ARIA labeling.
